Bill started playing banjo in 1976 on a friendly wager. He plays banjo
and guitar (and a little string bass). The first band Bill played in was
Peabody Mountain with Stan Taylor who was playing guitar at the time.
Bill was out of music for a while until he became involved with the
Flat Mountain String Band out of Greenville.
He is retired, married to Cindy and lives north of Dayton. Earl Scruggs
and JD Crowe has had the most influence on his style of picking. |

Stan's preferred
instrument is mandolin, but he also plays guitar, dulcimer and a little
bit of banjo. With RIPCO, he sings lead and tenor. Stan is married to
Sharon and is from Troy. His roots have always been bluegrass, but he
did play some rock and roll in his teens. His mother and father,
originally from Tennessee,
were in various gospel groups; in fact, his father was a member of the
Sunny Mountain Boys. Stan's step-father played fiddle, mandolin and
guitar. In the mid 80's, Stan played in the group Taylor Made along with
Kent Moore, RIPCO's guitar player. In the 90's, Stan was mainly fireside
entertainment until 2004 when RIPCO was formed. Besides picking and
singing, his other interest are horses, tractors, farming and his
family. |

Rick has been married to high school sweetheart Cathy for
34 years. They have 3 children (grown and gone) and soon to be 8
grandchildren. Born in Dayton, Ohio, he was raised the New Bremen area
of Ohio and now lives in Anna. He is a 4 year U.S.A.F. Vietnam era
veteran and very proud of it. Rick started playing upright bass at age
35 and has played with several bluegrass bands over the years. For 2
years, he played with Rising Tide from Houston, Ohio, then with Simple
Tymes from Sidney, Ohio. With Simple Tymes, Rick played 30 shows a year
for 7 years, in 5 states. Rick played on their CD’s titled That Old
Barn. He also played on Ralph Patrick Instrumentals with the Bluegrass
Outlaws, and two 30 minute shows for PBS. Their bluegrass broadcast was
recorded live in 2004 at the Bluegrass in the Corn Fields stage in
Wapakoneta, Ohio. Rick was trained musically by, and picked with one of
the best banjo players in Ohio for 15 years for Mr. Mike Dean from
Sidney, Ohio. Rick’s favorite band is Blue Highway and his favorite
singer is Don Rigsby. Rick joined RIPCO in January 2006.

Kent was
born in Troy, Ohio in 1952 to Juanita and Clayton Moore. He was taught
how to play banjo and guitar from his Father at an early age. He has two
grown sons Dustin and Kent Jr. In the eighties he played in a group
Taylor Made with Stan. Kent has strong vocals and plays a good lead
guitar. |

Doyle and his wife Laura have been married since 1989 and
have two daughters and a son. Doyle has been influenced with bluegrass music since a
young tender age. Doyle started playing guitar after his grandfather
Odra Skaggs (cousin to Hobert Skaggs—Ricky Skaggs father) gave him a
guitar at age 10. Over the years Doyle has played with a band called
Midnight Express in the early 1990’s, Madriver Tradition and the Miami
Valleys Most
Wanted Bluegrass Band.
Doyle also works as radio host for WYSO Radio in Yellow
Springs since 2008. His shows are Saturday nights from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
hosting “Down Home Bluegrass” and Sunday mornings from 6a.m. to 8a.m.
hosting “Rise When the Rooster Crows.” Doyle has also been a law
enforcement officer for a local city in the Miami Valley for the past 21
years.
