Bill Bach

Banjo, guitar

Bill started playing banjo in 1976 as the result of a bet. He plays banjo and guitar (and a little string bass). The first band Bill played in was Peabody Mountain. The last band he played with before RIPCO was Flat Mountain String Band out of Greenville. He is married to Cindy, formally retired and lives in Vandalia. Scruggs and JD Crowe have had the most musical influence on his playing and style. In fact, his most memorable moment is eating lunch with JD Crowe in Roanoke, Virginia. Bill's favorite pickers are Sammy Shelor and Steve Huber.

Stan Taylor

Mandolin, guitar

Stan's preferred instrument is mandolin, but he also plays guitar, dulcimer and a little bit of banjo. With RIPCO, he sings lead and tenor. Stan is married to Sharon and is from Troy. His roots have always been bluegrass, but he did play some rock and roll in his teens. His mother and father, originally from Tennessee, were in various gospel groups; in fact, his father was a member of the Sunny Mountain Boys. Stan's step-father played fiddle, mandolin and guitar. In the mid 80's, Stan played in the group Taylor Made along with Kent Moore, RIPCO's guitar player. In the 90's, Stan was mainly fireside entertainment until 2004 when RIPCO was formed. Besides picking and singing, his other interest are horses, tractors, farming and his family.
